Plan of Salvation

You Can Know That You Have Eternal Life

Like most people, you probably want to know where you will spend eternity. The God who made you, loves you. He wants you to know that you have eternal life. This knowledge comes from hearing and believing the Word of God. Please consider these four great truths so that you canknow that you have eternal life.

Truth 1 - The Reality of Sin

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (Romans 3:10)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)

Let's be honest, no one is perfect. Every one of us has done wrong at least once. Righteousness is not relative; God is the standard of right. When we are not perfect, we miss that mark, God calls those misses "Sin". It really does not matter by how much we miss the mark. If I had to jump a 12 foot crevasse to be safe, jumping 11 feet, 11 inches is just as fatal as jumping 6 feet. Earning God's favor is an all or nothing proposition. It takes only one sin to fall short of His demand. It takes only one sin to become a sinner. It takes only one sin to come short.

Truth 2 - Sin Must be Punished

For the wages of sin is death; (Romans 6:23a)

Have you ever wondered why we grow old and die? Your body can fight off every injury and illness. It just doesn't. There is no biological reason that we should die. Sin is not just a wrong action, it is also the power that causes us to commit sins. Sin is the reason people die. Untreated, it will cause eternal death.

God declares that sin pays wages. At the end of each week most of us expect to receive a pay check for the work that we have done. In the same way, sin pays wages. Its pay check is spiritual death. That spiritual death is described in Revelation 20:14-15.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The person who meets God without dealing with SIN must collect wages of sin in a place God calls The Lake of Fire, Hell, and The Second Death. It is a place of torment by fire, brimstone, darkness, and conscience that last for ETERNITY. You might protest, "How can a loving God send anyone to such a horrible place?" The answer is simple. God doesn't want to send anyone there. He has done everything He can do to keep us out of Hell. This leads us to the most wonderful truth in the Bible.

Truth 3 - God Made A Remedy for Sin

but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ out Lord. (Romans 6:23b)

Since He knew that we could not earn it, God made eternal life a free gift. There is nothing to be joined, nothing to be paid, nothing to be earned. Eternal life, the opposite of the second death, is a gift. It is free to us, but it was not free to God.

But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

God loves you. He did not want to make you collect the wages for your sins. He decided to collect those wages for you. How did He do that? The Lord Jesus, who is God, became a man and lived an absolutely SINLESS life. He earned eternal life. Judgement had no claim on Him; He was perfect. But, His perfect life was not enough. Before God could forgive us, someone still had to collect the wages of sin. Jesus voluntarily died IN MY PLACE. Jesus voluntarily died IN YOUR PLACE. He collected our wages.

In Heaven, God, the Father, wrote our sins under the account of His Son. On the Cross, Jesus Christ absorbed the full punishment for our sins. When He had completed paying for our sins, He cried "It is finished!" and died. Three days later, He rose from the grave to prove that He had accomplished His work. Death could not hold Him. He is alive today. Salvation is a simple bookkeeping transaction. But, just as Jesus chose to take our guilt, we must choose to take His righteousness.

Truth 4 - You Must Choose to Receive Eternal Life

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:9 & 13)

Notice what the last verse says. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." You must understand that YOU MUST RECEIVE THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE. God has paid for it, but you must accept it. He will not force you to be saved. He will not force you to have your sins forgiven. He will not force you to go to Heaven. But He has made a way for all these things to be done.

Once you realize that you are guilty and need God's pardon, He offers it freely. All you need to do is ask for it. Why don't you ask Him for it right now? Just pray this simple prayer:

Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve to be punished for my sin. Thank-you for taking my punishment. Please come into my heart and save me right now. I am trusting in you to forgive my sins and give me eternal life. Thank-you for saving me. Amen

God said that if you call on Him that He would save you. If you have called on Him, you have been saved. You now know that you have eternal life.

This summer we are traveling through Answers in Genesis

The Seven C's of History

Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consumation

We have already discovered how God made the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th.
We also learned how sadly sin entered the world because Adam and Eve disobeyed God, and ate the forbidden fruit.
July 6th-27th, we are going to be discovering Noah's ark and God's destruction of the world

July 6th- We learned that the ark was 1.5 football fields long, and was so very big. We had hands on learning about the shape and size of the ark
July 13th- Come learn about the animals which came on the ark, and some of the ways God made a way for the animals to fit with Noah and his family.

August 3rd - Confusion caused by the tower of Babel.

What we believe

The Holy Scriptures

Accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments as the inerrant word of God, verbally inspired in all parts and therefore altogether sufficient as our only infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice.

The One True God

Who is an intelligent, sovereign, spiritual, and personal being; perfect, infinite, and eternal in His being, holiness, love, wisdom and power; absolutely separate from and above the world as its Creator, yet everywhere present in the world as the Upholder of all things. He is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three distinct persons but without division of nature, essence, or being, and each having a distinct ministry in God's relation to His creation and people.

The Lord Jesus Christ

Who is the second Person of the Triune God, the eternal Word and only begotten son; that without any change in His divine Person, He became man by miracle of the Virgin Birth, this to continue forever as both true God and true Man, one Person with two natures; that as Man He was tempted in all points we are, yet without sin; that as the perfect Lamb of God He gave Himself in death upon the cross, bearing there the sin of the world, suffering its full penalty of divine wrath in our stead; that He arose from the grave in a glorified body; that as our great High Priest He ascended into Heaven, there to appear before the face of God as our Advocate and Intercessor.

Righteous Living and Godly Works

Not as a means of salvation in any sense, but as its proper evidence and fruit; and therefore as Christians we should obey the Word of our Lord, seek the things which are above, walk as He walked, accept as our solemn responsibility that duty and privileges of bearing the gospel to a lost world, remembering that a victorious and fruitful Christian life is possible only for those who, in gratitude for the infinite and undeserved mercies of God, have presented themselves wholly to Christ.

The Existence of Satan

Who originally was created a holy and perfect being, but through pride and wicked ambition rebelled against God, this becoming utterly depraved in character, the great adversary of God and His people, leader of all other evil angels and wicked spirits, the deceiver and god of this present world: that his powers are vast, but strictly limited by the permissive will of God who overrules all his wicked devices for good; that he was defeated and judged at the cross, and therefore his final doom is certain; that we are able to resist and overcome him only in the armor of God, by the blood of the Lamb and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Second Coming of Christ

That His coming in the air to rapture His Church, which is our blessed Hope, is always imminent; that when He was first by resurrection of the dead and translation of the living removed from the earth His waiting church, He will then pour out the righteous judgment of God upon the unbelieving world and afterwards descend with His church and establish His glorious and literal Kingdom over all the nations of a thousand years.

Future Life, Bodily Resurrection, and Eternal Judgement

That the spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in Heaven, that their works shall be brought before the Judgement Seat of Christ for the determination of rewards which will take place at the time when Christ comes for His own; that the spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hell (Hades) where they are kept under punishment until the final day of judgment, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, that they shall be judged and cast into Hell (Lake of fire), the place of final and everlasting punishment.

The Separation of Church and State

With each having definite and distinct spheres of responsibility.

The Priesthood of All Believers

That Christ is our Great High Priest and through Him every born-again person has direct access into God's presence without the need of a human priest; that the believer has the right and responsibility to personally study and interpret the Scriptures guided by the Holy Spirit.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ

That He alone is Head of the Body of Christ, into which all true believers are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit; that all members of this one spiritual body should assemble and identify themselves in local churches.

The Importance of the Local Church

That a New Testament church is a local assembly of born-again baptized believers united in organization to practice New Testament ordinances, to meet together for worship, prayer, fellowship, teaching, and a united testimony, and to actively engage in carrying out the Great Commission.

The Independence and Autonomy of the Local Church

That each New Testament church is free to govern itself without ecclesiastical interference, and should cooperate with other New Testament churches as the Holy Spirit leads; that it is responsible to follow the pattern of the New Testament church, and that it is directly accountable to God.

The Ordinances Given to the Local Church Are Two: Baptism and the Lord's Supper

That baptism is by immersion of believers in water, thus portraying the death, burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ; that the Lord's Supper is the partaking of the bread and the cup by the believer as a continuing memorial of the broken body and shed blood of Christ.
